We are currently developing the actual form these services will take and there will be further announcements in the near future.
BCIL was successsful in recieving a commission from Birmingham City Council Adults and Communities to offer a range of service alongside disabled people in Birmingham.

BIRMINGHAM'S FIRST INDEPENDENT LIVING SYMPOSIUM
Will take place at maple house from 9.30 on thursday 16th July 2009
Bcil is working in partnership with the Regional Disability Network to explore these issues and to look at a proposal to create Birmingham's first Independant Living Standards Group setting standards to prevent abuse of the concept and dilution of the principles.
The Symposium will also host Regional Disabilty Network's workshop feedback on Advantage Westmidlands Disability Equaility Scheme. Any representative from a user led or key disability organisation will receive a £40.00 payment to cover their expenses of attending the workshop.

Disabled Peoples Organisations - A Force for Change
Date and Venue: Saturday 9th May 2009 11 - 5pm at Coin Street Centre, 108 Stamford Street, London SE1.
This conference will include a range of debate and information about Disabled Peoples Organisations (DPOs). It is targeted at all those involved in DPOs, employees, users, trustees, directors and supporters. The conference will look at current challenges and future opportunities facing DPOs as well as providing a range of information and activities.
Themes will include;
-DPO Histories
-Values, skills and issues facing DPOs
-Individual budgets and personalisation
-Human rights, equality and diversity
-Current campaigns
-Future opportunities and risks for DPOs
